Today’s morning run was just typical…although it started out pretty chilly in the morning.  Both of my roommates were already up by the time I had gotten up, all the boys that live in our apartment (which is now up to 6 people: 3 ladies and 3 guys)  The boys wake up much earlier than the gals…although the gals went out last night to the strip club (shan’s work).

Did my usual run to work as I zipped from street to street, following the street lights as the lights dinged from red to green, hand sign to walker.  There was one road, near Macy’s Herald Square, which was roughed up and ready to get repaved…well, the light just turned, people were walking on the cross walk and I had to change directions from straight to left…zipped around and maybe I took too much of a gravital force on the turn, not enough traction on my shoes and almost slipped!  Ok…I must have scared a few people, but still I was still on my feet.

Got to work and in the elevator, a women asked me if I was cold or not (I had my typical sleeves, tshirt, shorts...) I told her that I was on the fences of wearing something warmer, but your body just tends to warm up.  She said the day was “crispy”…not cold, not cool…but CRISPY…

Excellent!…crispy huh?

Ok, so I have not written in a while and this maybe the only opportunity to catch up to all of the factor events...well...we shall slowly recap everything that went on from the MORE weekend to Boston weekend.

Let's see...

Yesterday morning I may have disrupted some people's commutes by flying by them...uh! I hate when people come out of no where and I was already late! Opps! It's really my fault when that happens!

So, I get into my office and find some facebook messages with PPP or P...I guess my keys got pushed and send and pushed again and send...my status was PPP...opps! Maybe the keylock would be good sometimes and useful in these terms. I had sometimes even called people...yeah, it's pretty bad as this run calling is as equal to butt dialing!

But short run during the monday group run because Cel was injured (as well as if she can or can not do this weekends marathon) and Rocketman is gearing up towards the Rhode Island Marathon...

I ran back home in the COLD WET RAIN! Uh, it was dreadful!

Anyways...all good, rest day today as I need my rest and this is a testiment to resting your body, getting sleep and eating right. The season is a long season and this is the worst time to get injured because the spring weather is perfect!

Stay strong!

Friday - 16- Leg cramp!

Woke up this morning at 6:30 after getting about 5 hours of sleep due to packing, cutting my hair and just getting ready for this marathon.

After the NY Flyers meeting last night as I was walking back home, you start to get the feeling of going for it...it's all the pent up energy that you have from not running and just pure nervousness...

Uh...what to do!

I do know that I do need to be conservative and not go out too fast, I do not want to be sucking air and be all exhausted...I just hope I do...actually do that!

After returning home, I went to work right away. I scrapped the whole dying of my hair bit, shaved my hair into a mohawk that was really long due to me saving my hair since January and well...got to work on packing and screen printing my shirt...No iron on letters of my name this year...it's all business here folks and it's time!

But seriously, I need to weigh down the possibilities of headgames and know that this is a LONG weekend...seriously, if you have never done Boston, it gets to being quite the LONG weekend. The race never comes so quickly, but you have all these events planned for yourself and wanting to do so many different things that it really exhausts you.

So...I need to rest and this morning was not much of the indicator...put the shooting pain of good old lactic acid cramping up your muscles right behind your knee and your calf...oh the joys...really...it wasn't the greatest of "pleasures" in my life, but this mornings pain came really close to wow...waking up and feeling ALIVE! Well..call me MR sicko, but seriously...it was "pleasureable".

Got all my stuff packed...felt as though I had missed something or forgot to pack something, but was out the door in a jiffy...

Subway by the 6 train, went to drop off a card for J and then pick something up from JL (alzheimer's R2R coach) and quickly walked to work...

One more day...just get through work without any problems!

Keeping my eye on today is about all I'm capable of. And today, I think I'll go for a run.

John Bingham, "Back to the Future," Runner's World

Ok, woke up this morning at 5:30 am. One of my roommates called me because he left his key with a friend. I waited for him...as he told me to open the door.

He told me that he would take 10 minutes...ended the phone conversation at 5:35.

Ok, 5:45 rolls around...where is he? I turn on the TV and wait..

Ok, I gave him a call...

He told me that he was right at the entrance way and I rang him up...I stayed up as now I was into the cheeziest movie.

Ok...he told me this ridiculous story as thought you were in the movie the Hangover...he was in a black cab, punched the driver because he was sleeping and the driver woke him up, then he ran away from the driver (he already paid)...then he bought a sandwich...and finally came home.

He also told me about the party he went to where this half asian gal was hitting on him (mind you that he is gay) and he was being coy with her, but she liked it and then he told me that he was engaged to her...and he kept referring to her as his wife as he is also from Ireland and he wanted a green card from her (but he was kidding around)

Anyways, finally went back to sleep after the movie was over at 6:30 and was going to get up at 7:30...but really got up at 8 because of the snooze button.

I needed to head up to the saturday run at a new location at NYRR because the NY Flyers had a promo deal with New Balance to test our their shorts as a consumer survey. Ok, sorry Brooks, but I needed to do this, anything for free stuff right?

Anyways, as I was running up towards NYRR, I hear my name on the street somewhere at 70th street. It was ST! Ok, I'll wait for her...and I changed directions since she LOVES to go her way, which was to go across to Central Park and enter at 72nd street and always runs down 72nd street at the end of her runs.

She's so funny, she told me that her and JH bought an apartment above her sister's place in Boston (guessing it's on the south or north side) anyways, she was a proud home owner now as they will be moving pretty quickly in June...I'm going to miss them, but JH will still be in NYC and at least when she returns I can see them...or go over to Boston and stay with them.

We ran together as we chat all the time whenever we run about jobs, family, and other stuff...she's an amazing runner who can keep up with me stride for stride...

We arrive to NYRR as we are impressed with all the NYFers out there who arrived! We started the run (unfortunately my camera did not work because I did not charge my battery! Opps!) But yes, we rolled around the park as ST was stride for stride with me again. We went up harlem hills as I tried to zoom up and get ready for next weekends challenge (ST did not let me go away, she challenges herself and stuck with me) as we rounded Central Park...we see MR G at the end and I said hello, he responded saying hello back and remembering my name!

Anyways, I kept telling ST about these shorts.

The shorts were pretty long comparably to other running shorts. Maybe I got a lot larger size than I had expected, but it felt larger. The brief inside was different than other running briefs as it felt a whole lot looser. The package was not really cupped and did not provide the usual support as other running shorts do...this can be good or bad...depending on the runner as the good side it provides a more freer feeling and not as much structure inside the pants...I was telling ST that it felt as through I was naked running through Central Park!

Anyways...to my gals running in the Paris Marathon tomorrow, may they have the time of their lives and most importantly have FUN...also to you JH as you are running as well!

Fun times today with ST!

Just fire me already...

After yesterday’s crazy day in the office and everything happening before 9am…I tried to get up a little happier this morning and accept more time to calm myself down. My roommate was telling me (since I live with 3 females) that since there cycles were going on…and I may have been drawn to their cycles that I was PMSing as well. Crazy? Maybe, I have no clue. I just know that hopefully it is over and I can move on with my life…although living with these females isn’t really that bad and you really cannot notice these changes at all (since I live with reluctantly “normal” people, it’s really nice to not be effected by this)

My day usually starts with some type of craziness where running to work seems to be very constructive and gets my juices flowing. Although it brings some anger in my life…but only for a short while. It’s very strange.

I mean, I feel closed in because of my job situation and some would say that you need to just quit and move on…

Anyways, something happened in Times Square today as I ran along and through…and as I got to work…I’m guessing the hot water did not work….

Bad day

Do not underestimate the intimacy of running, and the people with whom you share your miles.
Kristin Armstrong, Mile Markers blog, Runner's World.com

So...woke up this morning already feeling like today was going to be quite the bad day.

I got up in the middle of the night at 3am in the morning, not even knowing why...maybe it's because it's so hot!

It's weird the weather in March to being so warm...80 degrees?

I work up with a massive dark rain cloud over my head. (Maybe it was because I went to bed with a grudge) My one of my roommates was bitching as I was in the bathroom...and when I came out we spoke. No big deal as we have fun in a mocking way.

Ran to work...but today was different where I nearly get side swiped (car, person, I donno anymore!) and another walker changed his step and closed me in so I was going to run straight into a bollard! WTF!

Get to work and tried to log onto my computer with my user name and password...did not comply...great, wonderful, I entered way too many times, so now it locked me out...I tried to wait for IT, but I needed to send something out this morning!!!

Ok, called the head offices in Toronto and they got me through...

All these things happened before 9am in the morning, seriously?

There was also a HUGE bee in the office where one of my Project Managers wanted me to go kill it, but really knowing my morning already, seriously I would have gotten stung!

No run...

We run because it makes us feel like winners, no matter how slow or how fast we go.

Florence Griffith Joyner and John Hanc, Running for Dummies

Rest day today, and I really need my rest after this weekends run/race. Too much going on in my life to say that life is pretty simple.

Uh! It has been pretty disastrous with mostly everything...living situation is ok, work is a disaster and life? Well...

It's going to be ok, I just need to visualize where am I going to be at in 5 years, we'll see from there...

Subwaying it to work today, where sometimes you just need that break...and I can finally catch up...on my mind though are the latest subway attacks (someone got stabbed on the 1or2 line?) Also there were subway bombings in Russia as well...

Life...you need to move on and learn from things...things will be ok!

A recap - Good Friday

Life is short. Running makes it seem longer.
Baron Hansen, Danish architect

Well...since I have not been keeping up with my writing abilities, I need to write on my "off" days when I ride the subway in to work and give my legs a rest.

The subways are rather empty and streets pretty bare as it is a "holiday" today, where most people take the long weekend off...Spring break is also on the minds of many kids and maybe that's why I woke up in the morning as vandalists were on the top of the building's rooftop, as my roommate comes back from work at 5am in the morning and places the blame on me that I didn't wake up and scare them off...as they shook the building pretty much lraving by the fire escape...damn hoodlems!

Anyways, rest day today, no running as I probably will walk home tonight...ride the subway into work and walk back home.

April Fools

You finished a marathon and you believe, 'If I can do this, I can do anything.'
Grete Waitz and Gloria Averbuch, Run Your First Marathon

The funny story today?

Office jokes rooming around as my cubicle mate surprises other office people with tape underneath their mouse's...then someone came back and got him...

One co-worker even disconnected all of his connections from his computer and spent 30 minutes on this...bad joke there!

So, the joke during lunch was that I saw a blog posted by April F (aka ES, the blogmaster) who posted an April Fools joke on all the Flyers for the first Annual Men's Flyer's Bathroom run.

The catch was a playoff of the Bridges and Arches run that the flyers have...but it was really good. I responded on the forums as I want more and more people to have this blog link on their minds...a daily reminder or they can check it up from time to time when they are bored at work.

Anyways, it was really funny...very witty and it's really nice to have ES back in the blogging world again!
